Empowerment Center
The Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League (MTUL) was founded on the principle of empowerment of individuals, groups, and community. We have a long history of community activism and involvement in efforts to improve
the lives of African Americans, other minorities and the disadvantaged. By creating an Empowerment Center
in Tulsa we will be building on our long history and tradition, but also taking the next step to better address the current needs of our client base.

The MTUL Empowerment Center will focus on four core areas: Education and Youth Empowerment, Economic Empowerment, Health and Quality of Life, and Civic Engagement. This plan will address the need for each component of the Empowerment Center as demonstrated through data regarding pertinent risk factors within the community.

The primary service area of MTUL is located in North Tulsa. The service area radiates from MTUL’s office located at 240 E. Apache St. The boundaries are 56th Street North to Admiral and the Osage County Line to Yale.
The zip codes included in this area are 74106, 74110, parts of 74103, 74115, 74120, 74126, 74127, and
74130.
