OUR HISTORY



The Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League, a civil rights and social service organization was founded in l954 at the height of the Civil Rights movement to promote equal housing opportunities for African-Americans in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Today, the Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League (MTUL) is a non-profit, non-partisan, interracial community-based organization, one of 100 affiliates of the National Urban League.

Our Vision

  • To be the premier non-profit organization in the Tulsa area that will work with key decision-makers to create a city where African-American and others are able to take advantage of its many opportunities of employment, education and housing.
  • To be the recognized leader in economic, social, and technological equity in the Tulsa area
